Clinical pearls from this deck

  • Hot, confused and just exercised: heat stroke.
  • Suspected heat stroke: measure the core, not the skin.
  • Exertional heat stroke: cold water, and cool on the spot.
  • Stop cooling near 38.5: the core falls on afterwards.
  • Antipyretics do nothing in heat stroke: cool instead.
  • Dantrolene belongs to malignant hyperthermia, not heat.

Work through the deck once for recognition, then again a week later to test yourself — each question gives the answer and explains why every other option fails.
