This page explains what Pediatric Case Review collects, why, and what we do not
do with it. It is written to describe what the site actually stores rather than to cover every
possibility.
What we collect
Your account
When you register we store the details you give us: your name as you enter it, your email address,
and an encrypted form of your password. We never see or store your password itself.
Your payment
Payments are handled by our payment provider. We do not see, receive or store your card
number or any card details. What reaches us is confirmation that a payment succeeded and the
email address used, so we can activate the right account.
Your quiz progress
If you are logged in, the site saves your progress so it is the same on your phone and your
computer. What is saved is exactly this, and nothing more:
- the answers you chose on a deck;
- your score for that deck.
It is stored against your own account and nobody else’s, and it is saved only when you are logged
in. If you are not logged in, your answers stay in your own browser and nothing is sent to us at all.
We do not record how long you took, what you looked at, or anything about how you study beyond the
answers and the score.
Ordinary server records
Like any website, our server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security
and for diagnosing faults.
What we use it for
- to give you the access you paid for, and to match your payment to your account;
- to save and show your progress;
- to answer you when you contact us;
- to keep the site secure and working.
We do not use your data to profile you, and we do not run advertising on the site.
What we never do
anyone for marketing. We do not publish your results or share your progress with anyone.
Who else touches your data
Only the services needed to run the site: our web host, and our payment provider, which handles
the payment itself. They act for us and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are needed to make it work: keeping you logged in and holding your
session. Your device also stores your quiz answers locally so a deck still works when you are not
logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and its progress for as long as your account exists, so that your history is
still there if you come back and buy access again. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it
and the progress stored against it. Records we have to keep for accounting are kept by our payment
provider under its own rules.
Your choices
Email us at info@pediatriccasereview.com and you can:
- ask what we hold about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct anything wrong;
- ask us to delete your account and your progress;
- ask us to stop emailing you.
You can also clear your own progress from within the site at any time.
Children
This site is for doctors and medical trainees. It is not intended for children, and we do not
knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
